You're invited! Join us on May 12th for a B of Service project with city of Boulder OSMP. Give back to your community by assisting with trail maintenance in our beautiful open space.
We will be will be performing a “maintenance sweep” of Prairie Vista trail which will involve clearing and re-shaping drainage structures and removing encroaching vegetation. This project will involve being able to hike upwards of 2 miles and perform basic tasks with a hand tool (shovel, pick, rake, etc.). Volunteers will need to be prepared with long pants, sturdy shoes or boots and backpack for water and snacks. OSMP will provide extra water, tools, gloves, eye protection and work guidance.
Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) are a very special place. The open space lands teem with native plants and wildlife and are home to threatened and endangered species. They serve as a buffer between Boulder and nearby development. They sustain agriculture uses and add untold benefits to the natural environment - clean air, water, and earth.
The lands shape the urban mosaic of the Boulder Valley and provide residents with passive recreation opportunities. Trails are used by walkers, hikers, bicyclists, horseback riders, dog walkers and other passive recreational uses.
